Charity Fund Raiser on Dec 5th
We are delighted to invite you to our fund raising event for Philippines charity Preda!
WHERE: Five&Dime, 62 Dame Street, Dublin 2
WHEN: December 5th, 8.30pm – 10pm
WHAT: With a suggested donation of 5 euro at the door (all of which will go to Preda) we’ll give you a beer and provide some brilliant trad music from Dublin-based traditional Irish musicians including Aoife Dermody, Christian Brady, Cormac McDiarmada and friends. If you would like to contribute some more money to this wonderful charity, there will also be a raffle and some lovely Preda merchandise on sale (all money made from these will also go to Preda).
PREDA’s mission is to promote sustainable development through fair trade and poverty alleviation. Preda means: People’s Recovery, Empowerment Development Assistance Foundation.
PREDA’S IMMEDIATE MISSION: Winning freedom and new life for children in jails, in brothels, in hunger, on the street, abandoned youth, and those mired in poverty. Helping battered women, indigenous people and protecting the environment and alleviating poverty by micro-credit and fair trade. Preda is a Philippine human rights social development organization working for 34 years through fair trade practices to help the poorest and most vulnerable people in society and overcome injustice and poverty. Five & Dime Launches Next Week!
Design gurus Designist have teamed up with event coordinators/curators Humble Serpent to bring you Five&Dime, a temporary shop that solves dreaded Christmas shopping conundrums with cool, culturally tuned-in and affordable music, books, t-shirts, posters, calendars and home/lifestyle accessories.
Dublin needs an independent, one-stop-shop to take the stress out of the festive season with great stocking fillers and unusual gift ideas at affordable prices. We are centrally located and offer a laid back, enjoyable shopping environment. We also offer a space for shoppers to escape the Christmas hustle for a half hour in our intimate arts/events room
Five&Dime is not your normal shop. It is a refuge, a solution, a pit-stop. It is culturally tuned-in, gift savvy and one hundred percent independent/Irish-owned. It will also cure the Christmas fear.
